I want to purchase a car at auction. Obviously, you can’t really bring diagnostic gear and do a 72-point (or whatever) inspection on site. I’d like to find an auction house that allows an interim, good-faith inspection period so I can take it to a qualified mechanic to ensure I’m not getting a lemon.

I heard a person can buy property for a song at bank and police auctions- is this true, or is it a scam? I’d like to by a recent decent used car, and am toying with the idea of looking at such an auction- are bargains really there?
and please respond in English

I have someone coming to buy a car tonight (I am a dealer) and he wants to be sure that the car is hpi clear. I said that the buyers fee I paid at the auction house covers this as I know from reading it on the t & c’s in the auction hall but do not have anything in writing to show him. He sounds really awkward and to me is a tight bastard for not paying £30 to check the car himself!
As a trader, I do not particularly wish to show the buyer my invoice from the auction house. It is my business to make a profit but not let anyone but myself and my accountant know my profit margin. (Which is £1000 btw!!)
Also the car is not a wreck, it is a legitimate BMW Z3 in excellent condition. I don’t buy wrecks or sell them. Some people are honest believe it or not!

I like to start a car trade business, and I would like to know how to go about in North west England.

Banks (Chase for example) auction off returned car leases at the end of the lease. I am wondering if there is a way of finding out specifically which auction is going to be auctioning it.

I have had to repo a car twice from a friend of mine and now we are in the process of going to court over this. What is a reasonable charge to go pick up the car, which was about 10 miles from my house? Also aside from damages are there any additional charges I should add? Thanks

If so, about what price do they go for?
I’m thinking about going to an auction in a few weeks. Their inventory is most Chevys and Fords around 1998-2001 models with around 100000-150000 miles.
