Repossession Houses

My family and I are looking for a house in Maryland that isn’t expensive, but is a fixer-upper. Does anybody have any suggestions of where to even start looking? Has anybody been to auctions for houses?

I am looking for a serious “auction house” in Quebec, Canada — the object is the sale of a heritage house in the Province of Quebec. Serious replies welcome.

Seems like you can get listings if you pay a fee to a web site, but is there any other way to find out what houses are up for auction?

Last summer I sold many antique furniture through an auction house in London, but I have not yet received a payment of the sale proceeds despite my repeated letters and telephone calls.

Where should I go now? I am living abroad and the auction house might be taking advantage of it.

We are looking to buy a house from the auction. However, the catch is you have to live in the house, and make any and all necessary repairs within the first 18 months. Has anyone ever done this, and if so, how did you manage?

So you go to a house auction and there is a 5% downpayment. and it needs to be paid with a certified check or money order. But you dont know how much you are going to get the house for. So you dont know how mucht o make out the certified check or money order for. Lets say the house starts at 10 thousand. you can either get it for 15. wich will be 750, or for 20 thousand wich is a thousand dollars. how much should your check be for? and if it is more then what you need do they give you some money back? it doesnt make any sense. its like the egg before the chicken thing.

My family home of 102 years will probably be sold much to my disappointment.
