I want to buy a house in foreclosure auction. Where can I get info on the net or otherwise on how to do this? I haven’t had any luck with google search. Anyone buy a house at auction b4? advice?

I live in Vermont.
A good FREE website, please!

The house went for auction but was apparently passed in. I am trying to find out what the final bid was, thanks.

I am unclear on how the whole “Fulton County Court House Auction” works? Do I need to bring a chiers check at the time of bidding or I can get it produced within prescribed timelimit?

If the house is appraised at $140,000, does it start at $140,000? Or lower?

I’m looking to find out what will happen if my house is repossesed and ends up in an auction or being sold and sells for less than i owe the mortgage lender?
mb ;-(

Lots of foreclosures going on, it’s understandable for regular folks to not have the cash up front. Seen celebs houses going under and repossession of sports cars: Evander Holyfield, Ed McMahon, Aretha Franklin, Jose Conseco, etc….anyone have any ideas why some celebrities don’t buy their homes outright? if you’re making $6 or $7 million dollars a year or per movie, or whatever what are reasons not to purchase your $2 million home?

A friend who is a real estate investor (she’s new to the game) in Oregon tells me that Oregon law prohibits the auctioning of houses. I cannot imagine a reason for this and I’m wondering if perhaps she’s misinformed.
Are any of you aware of such a law? She said it’s reasonably new.

If you buy a house from an auction (particularly in California), what will the property tax be based on? Will it be based on the auction purchase price or some assessed market value?
Thanks.

The house is in a park, not on private land. It’s a big one, 2400 sq.ft. I am current with the payments, but my job is making me move 500 miles away, I won’t be able to make payments on 2 homes. Is it better that they repossess it or foreclose? It’s for sale but the market doesn’t look good, homes have been for sale there for over 4-5 yrs. Renting is out of the question, I can’t afford the insurance they charge for a rental modular, and I don’t want it destroyed by the kind of tennants it would draw.
